Next Friday, Julianna Kamila Siedler-Smuga will perform Belgian Rare Groove and Breakbeat, a piece I wrote for her doctoral dissertation some years ago. I’m happy that this piece will be featured at a festival very dear to me, in one of my hometowns – Łódź.
Julianna and I have known each other for a long time. We went to the same music shcool and continued music education at the conservatory. I even wrote my first symphonic work for her, a concerto for marimba and orchestra, in my first year of composition studies. Thank you, Julianna, for taking the gamble and believing in my creative powers back then!
Thank you to Michał Rupniewski, Paweł Sokołowski, and Kuba Krzewiński for programming my music again. The concert will feature pieces by Keiko Abe, Marta Śniady, and Tomasz Goliński. You can find more information under this link.
The photo is from a recording session in Łódź in 2015. If you can’t attend the concert, you can still listen to the piece on my Soundcloud.
